Zack Ferris taught at Blue Bear School of American Music for four years and is currently offering lessons in the San Francisco Bay Area (view Quicktime movie). He has a BA in MIDI Filmscore from Berklee College of Music. He released a CD entitled "The Whoaa" back in March 2001 and his latest "Chasing the Cheetah" is being played on KCSM and KPOO featuring Babatunde Lea, Bobby Bryant (sideman for Stevie Wonder ) and Naim Satya (Electra Records) . Currently he is working on "1,2,3..."- an album of mostly solo and duo jazz. He was interviewed by Clifford Brown Jr. Aug 14 KCSM 91.1 FM. He recorded a pop single entitled "Taking No Time to Reflect What is Going On" featuring Bay Area legendary singer Ledisi. He was a sideman for Sonny Lewis in the Fillmore Jazz festival 2002.

He is also an Emagic Logic Audio sequencing consultant/ instructor at Bananas at Large (San Rafael, CA ) and Leo1s Pro Audio (Oakland, CA) and worked for Opcode (makers of Studio Vision, Galaxy, Overture) on the tech support team. He has composed pieces from twelve tone rows, to four part contrapuntal fugues, to TV jingles to brass fanfares and wrote for a Boston University series called Baystate.
